What to Expect

What to Expect

It can be very intimidating to visit a church for the very first time.  You might feel unsure about where to go, what to wear, when to be there, and what to expect, among other things.  We want to assure you that when you visit Valley View Baptist Church for the first time, you will find yourself in a friendly, warm and loving environment where you will be welcomed!  We want you to experience Christ-centered Bible preaching, great worship music, friendly people, and a place where you can feel “at home!”

While the service begins at 10:30 for all ages, we encourage you to come for coffee, water and doughnuts at 10 am. Its a great way to meet people, and get settled in and ready to begin.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

There is no dress code at Valley View Baptist Church for members or our guests.  You will find many different styles of dress in our church.  Come as you are! Our only request is that whatever you do decide to wear is comfortable and modest.

DO YOU HAVE MINISTRY FOR MY CHILDREN?

A nursery for children from birth up through age 5 is designed, provided and supervised during the Sunday worship service.

In the service, we encourage children to join their families from age 6 and older during the beginning of the service including time of worship in song. Our pastor connects with the children every week with a “Junior Sermon” generally on the same theme as the message he gives to the adult congregation that week.

Then, following the Junior Sermon, children grades 5 and under are dismissed to Children’s Church especially suited for their ages. Children in grades 6 and higher are encouraged to join their families in the service

AWANA Children’s Ministry is coming on September 10, 2023, running Sundays 5-7pm.

WHAT ARE YOUR SERVICES LIKE?

We believe that expository preaching and teaching of the word of God is a high priority in worship.

In addition, we believe that our music reflects our attitude and heart of worship. Valley View Baptist holds worship services consisting of Christ-centered, Biblically sound music; selections are a mixture of great hymns of the faith as well as songs written in each generation up to the present.

The focus of all of our worship time is honoring our great and awesome God!  We start our service with prayer and announcements, then worship music consisting of several songs, and an offering.  Our pastor or guest speaker will then give an in-depth message from the Bible, and the service typically ends with an invitation.

AM I EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OFFERING?

We are always delighted when visitors choose to worship with us.  It is our hope and prayer that our service will be a gift to you. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
